Annotation

The article is an analysis of the information on the Emirate of Bukhara under the Russian protectorate fixed in reports and articles included into the valuable, but not widely used source on the Asiatic policy of the Russian Empire — “The collection of geographical, topographical and statistical material on Asia” published at the end of 19th – beginning of 20th c. as a series of classified publications. Authors of publications, who visited Bukhara themselves, give characteristics of state structure, taxation system, legal regulation of different area including the court and procedure. This information substantially supplied our knowledge about Asiatic states, regions and peoples from other historical sources. No doubts, gathering such information was not a priority task of the authors of publications included into “The collection”, but it seems to be of great importance to widen our idea of political and legal development of the Emirate of Bukhara during the studied period.
