Annotation

The article is devoted to one of the brightest phenomena in Russian-German cultural relations in the field of drama theater, namely to the long-term Moscow tour of the largest representatives of the German stage, Ernst von Possart and Ludwig Barnay, which served as an opportunity to introduce the audience to their own interpretation of the images of the classical, characteristic and comic repertoire in the works of world classics and plays by modern European authors. The analysis is presented of the perception of these performances by the general public, art criticism and the theater community, who had the opportunity to compare the artistic style and acting skills of the masters of the German stage.
