Annotation

The article highlights the role of the village of Kolomenskoye during the formation of the personality of the future commander-in-chief and emperor Pyotr Alekseevich Romanov. It was in the village of Kolomenskoye that the young crown prince had the idea of modernizing the army and preparing them for the Azov campaigns and the Northern War. Thanks to the exercises held in Kolomenskoye and the Kozhukhovsky maneuvers, Pyotr Alekseevich became convinced of the need to create qualitatively new ground and naval forces capable of defending Russia’s foreign policy interests. After the Azov campaigns and the Battle of Poltava, Emperor Peter I himself stopped three times and deployed troops in the village of Kolomenskoye before the solemn ceremonies of entering the capital, while he personally supervised all the preparations and led the procession.
