Annotation
According to the decree of August 6, 1887, the Murghab Sovereign`s Estate was to become an institution whose activities should be directed towards the dissemination
of modern and productive farming methods among the population of the Transcaspian region living in the Murghab River valley. To achieve this goal, the Imperial government attempted to create a modern irrigation system, establish demonstration and experimental sites, and even facilitated the resettlement of settled agricultural populations from other regions of Russian Turkestan. Based on this, the article attempts to answer questions about the use of modern agricultural experience in the functioning of this estate, how much it was in demand in other institutions of the Turkestan region, as well as what means and methods the imperial government used to apply and broadcast this experience. As a result of the study, it was revealed that in order to spread productive farming methods, the administration of the estate under the guidance of specialists from the department of appanages, actively interacted with representatives of other administrative bodies of the region, as well as with the local population of the region, despite its special position in the administrative structure of the Transcaspian region. However, the issue of the relevance of the translation of agricultural experience developed on the estate requires more detailed and careful consideration.
