led to political turbulence. The socio-political activity of the Orthodox clergy and its role in the monarchical movement, the attitude of the clergy to the emerging institution of parliamentarism and its participation in the work of the State Duma are considered. Particular emphasis is placed on internal contradictions in the Black Hundreds movement, and the role of the clergy in the split of the right movement. The role of the Union of the Russian People in the period under study is considered, the reasons that led to a decrease in the number of Black Hundreds and a decrease in the authority of the Union of the Russian People are shown.
