Annotation
The work is devoted to the study of evidence of how the power of the Scythian rulers was visualized, what attributes were used by the Scythian kings to present and
strengthen their power. The paper analyzes the evidence of Herodotus about the Scythians, as well as archaeological sources. On the basis of the ancient sources, the authors of the work single out military attributes that were associated with myths about the origin of the Scythians, religious objects in which a connection between the religious and political spheres is seen. The article also discusses the issue of the interaction of Greek and Scythian cultures, which is reflected in the literary tradition and archaeological materials, including in relation to such a conservative area of the life of ancient societies as mythology and religion.
