MIGRATION ISSUES IN AZERBAIJAN-TAJIK POLITICAL RELATIONS

The Azerbaijan and Tajik republics, which have expanded their economic and trade relations, cooperation in the CIS and within the framework of international organizations, have developed diplomatic and political relations since the restoration of state independence. The strengthening of the political dialogue between the republics over the years has undoubtedly also raised such natural and sensitive issues as migration. Political relations do not hinder the development of migration relations, although there are no serious problems with migration between the parties. Migration is one of the areas of cooperation that is changing and is perceived ambiguously in the Caucasus and Central Asia, as in all regions. Based on historical friendship and cultural ties, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan have long been familiar with migration processes, but in the modern era, migration issues have increased their relevance at the regional and international levels. The research work showed that migration plays an important role in the developing political relations between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan and is a priority for cooperation. For this reason, the analysis conducted throughout the article gives reason to believe that the study of migration relations between both countries sounds relevant in our time.
