Annotation
The article discusses the relationship between the sovereigns and subjects of the Moscow kingdom during the period of the systemic crisis of the time of the beginning
of the XVII century through the prism of crossbowing charters, reflecting the fears and hopes of subjects and objects of the oaths. In the course of the study, it was revealed that the oaths of the specified period was a tool for strengthening and legitimizing the power of frequently replacing sovereigns, their attempt to enlist the most weighty in the eyes of subjects to gain stability and dynastic continuity.
