Annotation

The paper is devoted to the formation and material and technical equipment of the trade and public food enterprises in the construction areas of BAM during the period from 1974 to 1989. The author considers the main indicators of work supply facilities and population needs on the base of documentary and oral sources analysis. The number of the workers’ supply enterprises was lower than the normative. The lag in their construction was influenced by such factors as the branch mechanism of construction management, miscalculations of designers, adjustments to design estimates, reduction in funding. The supply system was projected for the period of construction of the mainline. The objects were mainly placed in temporary or adapted buildings, which were not officially transferred to municipal jurisdiction after the completion of the BAM and partially ruined and lost.
