Annotation

We reconstruct the political portrait of Grigory Yakovlevich Belenky (1885–1938). He was a revolutionary, one of the organizers of the establishment of Bolshevik power in Presnya, secretary of the Krasnopresnensky district party committee in 1917–1925, and a participant in the Zinoviev opposition in 1926–1927. We analyzed belonging to him autobiographical, party, and archival documents. In addition, we used some items from the collections of the Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. We can propose several theses for the Belenky`s political portrait: 1) political and personal courage, 2) developed organizational skills, 3) a penchant for revolutionary action, 4) belonging to opposition ethics, 5) the desire to subordinate one’s interests to those of the party.
