Annotation

The articulation of the interests of social groups and the institutiona lization of business and workers’ associations in the early 20 th century coincided with the introduction and reform of legislative institutions based on representation of interests. The comparison of the Duma representation of these modern interest groups is based on the analysis of the Social Democratic fraction and the parliamentary trade and industrial group as organized formations with specific lobbying tools. The study highlights both minor similarities between these formations and significant differences in group organization and ways of protecting interests.
